Yes they are Sweet William - my late brother bought me a bunch of these when my daughter was born 45 years ago, only time he ever gave me flowers so I remember them well.
You have captured the beauty of the individual blooms well and the colors are natural.
Focus is sharp and a good composition.

Hi Bob, I think these might be Sweet William too! Love the color of the flowers and their perkiness. You might have had to work a bit to get this shot but it was worth the time and effort. Very pretty with excellent light and focus! Nicely done! I enjoyed the view! :o) Nancy

Love this composition, it looks like a little bouquet of the dyed mini Valentine carnations. This piece has great depth and looks 3 dimensional. It also has great complimentary color and clarity. Love it!

These are just so pretty! I love the red, pink and white and the way it pops from the garden spot.
Each one is just perfect as if it was painted !
Well captured with spot on focus, this image is sharp and clear and your exposure is perfect, the colors and tones appear natural. Well composed in natural setting, we get a good sense of the Sweet William Dianthus and how it grows.
Well presented!

Hi Pat.. This shot is one of those bonuses tied to the end of a long and enjoyable day of toil. My son and grandson were helping me clear a piece of ground of debris and overgrowth. With not so much a specific plan for the ground as it was pure speculation as to its potential use, we cleared the debris. I noticed the color first and advised the boys to be careful there might be more.

With that the grandson called out as he was running away, "I'll get your camera Pepe! The 5D with the 90, riiiiiiight". What a great kid, loves his Pepe so... Not on your life! He knows Pepe's habits and also knows how to use them for his own benefit.

An hour later and after the work had finished, of course, with a milkshake in one hand and no camera in the other, the prodigal returned.

When asked if he had forgotten my camera he was quick to respond; "Well, ya see it's like this. Farmor made this shake just for me. So, I had to accept it and drink it, or she would be hurt."

After a short pause to slurp a big ol sip of the shake he continued; "Now, Pepe's rule number 2 says never hold a drink in one hand and any of Pepe's cameras in the other!" ... Slurp!

Gotta admit the kid was right. So sorry it took so long for this reply. Thank you, for the excellent review and outstanding six rating! ... Bob

Hi Bob, this photo of "Sweet William" flowers is a new one for me and they're quite a spectacular variety. The crimson, pink and white pattern is very vibrant. Good focus, texture and clarity. Thanks for your effort on the steep hill to bring us this floral treat, cheers.

Hi Mark.. I learned a little trick so time ago regarding . Canon's in camera software doesn't do a good job with this color range, they always appear a little flat, pastel-ish. Post processing only makes them Gerrish. So, I discovered the 'White Balance Shift' application in the camera's menu. This lets the user adjust the sensor sensitivity to favor the Red through Orange band of the spectrum - really makes a difference when shooting fall foliage. A setting of A5/M5 which is what I did for this shot. Sorry about the tutorial, force of old teaching habits. So sorry it took so long for this reply. Thank you for the fine review and rating ... Bob
