Love this bigger version of the ant. Great choice of colors and green foreground really made your subject to stand out. Excellent framing with plenty of negative space. This ant seems to gaze on something white eating. You drawn and painted this well.

I like your analysis. How many others talk about negative space? That is important in getting a good composition. You use a lot of artistic license when you do your photo composition because you know. I am still thinking about how good the hollyhock image was.

Thanks for thinking about that hollyhocks. Based on experience, it is easy to frame artworks for sale with negative space especially those orders for canvas. Otherwise, part of your subject will be cut-off. This artwork a potential winner. I ran out of six, but this one deserves it.

I am sure when you sell photos you quickly catch on to what sells. It would seem that color and composition would be the first hook when viewers search for appealing images. On FAR you can sure tell those who have advanced above the beginner stage. But everyone starts out as a novice. A cyber 6 on the ant painting is appreciated.

I would like to give some posters more constructive comments but some get pretty defensive, not realizing it is in their best interest. And heaven forbid to give them a 4 rating. : )
My only experience selling images was the result of a Juried show sponsored by the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. (let me know if I am boring you with all the comebacks).

Yup, I gave 4 rating, too and was questioned why? It is good to know that you were able to have some sale. It's been a while that I haven't been in in the Arboretum. Love that place especially during the blooming of the tulips.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine and classical composition offers us an enjoyable view of that insect and its location. Textures, colours and tones are fine. Well created and good luck!
