This is really beautiful hawk with an interesting colors/ almost as a Red Robin.

Hi Cindy, I would have been sad too but that is what birds of prey do! Don't think I would have liked to see an image of the hawk eating the Cardinal though. LOL The picture you did capture is very regal! You captured a nice sparkle in the eye. The lighting and focus show him of well. I have to say,
I wouldn't have minded capturing the hawk the way you did! Nice job! :o) Nancy

This hawk a plan and executed to perfection from how the way you describe it. He got his lunch ready to eat. What a excellent capture of this hawk. Excellent work, thank you for sharing!

Thank you, Devonte. Yes, he did, reminded me of my younger days setting out a stump in the backyard plucking a chicken for supper :)

A great shot of this hawk. The focus and clarity are great showing such detail of colors and textures of the feathers. A great narrative describing nature as cruel as it seems, is vital for the balance of nature.

Wow, what a thrill to get a photo of a Peregrine falcon so close up! I love the background, perfect for this shot. The photo has nice sharpness. Very well done.

Thank you so much, Allan for the kind comments and rating. Actually, it is a Sharp-shinned Hawk. They are a pretty small hawk to, although I think they are a tad bigger than the Peregrine :)

A very interesting and unique story presented here of this hawk. I was also in awe as I watch one attack a tern. They are very powerful. I need to be respected. They do need to eat so in all fairness nature can be cruel but fair. Beautiful to view. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, yes, and in all honesty nature is better than humans in many cases.

Cindy,
A beautiful portrait of this Handsome Hawk the light sparkling in it's eye while highlighting it's beautiful plumage standing out from the blurred background. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus

A good looking nature image presented here, together with fascinating notes too! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a very enjoyable view of that handsome bird. Colours, textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely taken!

Nice portrait although i would have preferred a vertical shot, but at least you got one, also i might have taken a shot of it eating its prey[maybe to gruesome] although its part of life, unusual i would have thought to have this bird so close...Brian
