You caught this guy at the exact right moment. Just as he was in the same curvature as the stump behind him. In my opinion you may have overdone the post work, probably as in the curve adjustments. Making the whole image over sharp. If the sharpening was needed maybe try selecting just the subject and stump to adjust. Then maybe reverse the selection and adjust (if needed) the greenery differently, maybe a tad of softening. It is a cool capture. I like the composition and also the bit of rock wall in the background.

Hi Nikman, you've caught this Otter in his environment just doing his thing. That's what a good photographer wants and you were ready to catch the shot at the perfect time. Good colour, focus and clarity. Thanks for sharing :-)

This is a great photograph of the otter in the wild. It's amazing you actually saw him, he seems pretty well camouflaged against the tree trunk. The lush greenery around him makes it so real in nature.

Amazing capture. How did you notice him. What lens were you using? He is almost "hidden" by the tree stump. How long did he stay there scratching his back.

Nik,
A beautiful & amusing picture of the Otter scratching it's back against the stump of a tree framed by the green vegetation around the stump. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

You were in the right place to get this and probarly looks better in a video rather than a still, but at least you got it,maybe a nearer one would have been a tad better, but still like it...Brian

A scene that will make me pause and just be here and probably lost my sense of time. This is beautiful Nik.
I like how you've shown the natural habitat, too free from digital changes. Points of improvement is just to increase the focus to give the viewers see the vivid details. Overall, the scene is simply nature's best and you have a remembrance of this moment.
