Managed to catch a great shot! A very beautiful bird, bright plumage, shiny coloring, rich indigo color! Excellent application for the competition!

The vibrant colour of the bird in this picture is a feast for the eyes. A picture that brings a sense of joy and calm to anyone who sees it. Well done. Good luck!

As you say a more natural setting might have been better but really don,t think it makes much difference in this, what its on think actually makes for a good contrast in this good dof and a good one for the contest...Brian

This is a beautiful shot of the male blue bunting. The focus and clarity are so crisp and clear, plus you have caught the eye of the bird. The color is beautiful. Good luck in the contest.

This is a beautiful bird. I've never seen one of these birds so thank you for sharing. Your composition is quite nice despite your haste to get your camera ready. The clarity and colors are very nice as well. The blurred green behind the putty colored rail and blue bird creates a nice tension. Well done, nice capture.

Such a beautiful entry. Excellent POV and you are able to showcase its expressive eye and patterns and design of its blue wings. The green background created a strong contrast with the blue color of this indigo bunting. Point of improvement is just to clone the sunflower seeds to make the presentation a bit cleaner. Overall, this is a pleasure to view.

Wow! The indigo bunting is such a gorgeous deep blue ! As your title implies , this handsome boy does appear to be trying the decide!
Very well photographed with spot on focus, this image is sharp and clear and your exposure is perfect, colors snd tones appear true and natural. The bird is standing out so beautifully from its position on the railing . You have brought out such well defined detail in feathers, face and beak, I appreciate the clear eye!
Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest

Many thanks for the wonderful review, Pat, and also the extra star and well wishes! He was on the deck once, I looked up from eating dinner, saw this brilliant blue and bolted for the counter where I had my camera near the window!
