Hunting I am afraid is a difficult necessity to keep numbers in check. I would never hunt myself but I also wouldn't like to see them starve to death for over population. Wolves and bears always kept their numbers in check but alas in most areas they have been pushed out. Lighting, shading, color tones, details really nice. Overall a nice presentation. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. Yes, sometimes hunting is a necessary evil.

A very sad ending to a magnificent animal. Your composition shades tones and background highlights your subject perfectly . Thank you for sharing!

A good looking image posted here into the competition, together with sad notes! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a very enjoyable view of your handsome Bullseye and his location. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well taken!

A pretty sad story of Bullseye per artist notes. Bullseyes looks so peaceful and contented in this photo. I can not see any fear in his eyes even though you were there taking picture of him. I love the setting with traces of snow. All angles considered, you have captured Bullseyes well. So sorry that that you have lost a friend. This is a great entry.

I never saw fear in his eyes or had him run from me; he accepted me as part of his world and would allow me to photograph him from 8 feet away; sometimes he would go to sleep while I was there; I was blessed to have had a special bond with him for almost 4 years. Thank you for your kindness.

A lovely photograph of this Buck; great focus and clarity showing the detail of his coat, and his colors. I'm sorry he was shot you must be heartbroken. I don't understand why people want to shoot such beautiful animals. Good luck in the contest.
