Perfect scene for me right now struggling with above 90's temperature. Love the vivid formation of the ice and its textures. Bluish colors are indicative of below freezing temperature. Great lighting, focus, and angle. A refreshing scene at the height of the Summer heat.

Thanks Nieves for the nice review. I am glad you could "cool off" for a bit looking at the image. We will pay the price later in the year when the high does not get above 0 degrees.

I really like the way you have captured these icicles, with all the different shades of blue and white. You have also brought out so well the fine shine and textures in the ice.
The photo is sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the photo, and both the white balance and exposure is spot on.
The tall format is of course the best, and it is a very good balance in the composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Allan, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

I would think an icicles would be second nature to a Norwegian. : )
In this case the shapes are different than just an icicle hanging off a roof line. Nature sure can create some interesting features if we just look! Thanks for the review.

Yes, we do see a lot of them in winter, but the icicles you have photographed are especially lovely. You are more than welcome for the review Allan.
