A great initial impact; the color, background are lovely. However I feel a lack of definition of the beetle, I cannot make out his head and body, maybe it is disguised with the color pattern. Good luck in the contest.

Indeed, this is a colorful green beetle. I like how you have showcased it eye and design of the green dominated wings. The dark background fits well and increased the viewer's focus on your subject.
