A lovely entry. I like the natural and authentic colors of your iris. You should have increase the focus because you have sufficient negative space. The background also needs some removal of unnecessary elements like that little bud at the right side of the branch and a straight line at the bottom of the big bud. The portrait orientation fits well. Overall, this is beautiful image but can still be improved. Wish you the best for this contest.

Yes, Iris is one of the hardest to capture because of the messy background. You have captured this well but the background is messy. I usually use my long lens because it softens the background.

Chris, you did well with the background, but you overdid the saturation of your iris. The original colors are already authentic and pure. The problem was just the background and the tiny bud that needs to be removed. Overall, this modification is a great progress. Thanks for sharing.
