Wonderful post. I like the position of the heron in the frame. Great freeze action for a bird that is in the middle of its catch. The hint of brown offers a contrast to the limited color palette. Very well done.

Hi Kathy, Though I've wanted to have a heron with a fish in his beak, they never seem to be fishing when I'm taking shots of them. LOL You captured the very shot I would have liked to get! Love the focus and lighting in this! Everything is sharp and clear. Very nicely presented and a joy to view! My hat is off to you! :o) Nancy

Hey Kathy great shot. Not so much about the subject but more about how you kept the background from swallowing the bird - Kudos. This is a tough shot to get this much contrast.
Excellent center placement of the subject.
Camera technique has the eye and all facial features, including its lunch, in sharp focus. Feather detail is detailed and well-focused.
Extra double plus very goodly done!!... Bob
