This has good form and a very nice composition. The drawing craftvis excellent and so iscthe colour palet. I feel however the pastel strokes are raw and not blended in the profiling outer rims of the leaves/petals. Thus if looks like chalk. I realise this may be your intention. However I feel a smoother outline may give this composition that extra oomf.

A beautiful scene of this monarch butterfly feasting with the seeds of the sunflower. I love the realistic shapes of the sunflower its petals, sepals and the seeds. The colors of your sunflower is a bit unique compare to some realistic ones like red-wine, yellows, even pink. The monarch was well-drawn and colored. Framing and background fits well. Overall, this is a nice piece.

What really stands out to me is the fall colors in this painting. I love that gradient mix of orange, peach yellow and green in the petals. The butterfly adds appeal and interest. The background is highly effective and allows your main subject(s) to stand out in a very pleasing way.
