Hi Allan, I may only get 2 cents for reviewing but this image is so worth the time! Love the Monarch on these delicate flowers. Both Monarch and flowers are wonderfully sharp! The image is gorgeous and a delight to see. Textures in the butterflies wings stand out well. Lighting is awesome. It's my pleasure to give you six stars! I love the image! Good Luck in the Contest! :o) Nancy

Whoa Nancy, I am glad I got your two cents worth. You review was very uplifting to read and think about. These are the type of shots that keep us going! I deeply appreciate you 6 rating, thank you!

I know what you mean, there is something special and unique about Monarchs; I only reared 17 this year, it proved too hot and humid to go out searching plants for eggs and caterpillars this past summer, normally I release well over a hundred. This is a gorgeous shot of a nice, crisp looking male, perfectly focused. Excellent exposure and color saturation, definitely an excellent entry for the contest, my very best wishes to you!

Thank you for the wonderful review and high rating! What a surprise that someone helps to raise monarchs from the egg stage. Your really are a friend of nature!

Whoo Hoo! This is a perfect shot of this monarch and certainly of the quality looked at for magazine articles (as well as framed and showcased). Lovely detail shows the intricacies (including texture) within those delicate wings. You have retained sharp focus of both Antennae's as well as the proboscis. Your angle allowed that low hanging leaf to act as a leading line as well as adding further environmental factor. Thumbs UP and Hats Off - a truly nice capture that any photography would enjoy having in their profile.
