Initial impact: An eye grabber of a shot- stunning.

Creativity of presentation: Just getting this little jewel motionless on a camera sensor is creative enough for me. Not to mention the eye blink.

Color Harmony: The earth tones of the bird are pleasingly contrasted against the green plant and the mottled background.

Center of Interest: Tight cropping and framing with a shallow DOF keeps the center of interest interesting to the viewer.

Technical Excellence: The camera settings are appropriate for the subject being recorded.

Technique: Advanced photographic skills are evident with this take. The feather and down detail is exquisite. All of the facial features including the beak are well displayed.

Lighting: Even and soft. It brings out the details of the bird without any glare or other optical aberrations.

Story Telling Ability: A fertile imagination will know no limitations on the places this image could take one.

Recommendations: I have none.

This entry is going to be very hard to beat, good luck... Bob

I have yet to capture a shot of a Hummingbird so I'm envious of your lovely shot! I think the focus and lighting are awesome! Every feather on this little guy stands out beautifully! I think it's amazing that you caught it blinking too! A perfect shot and entry for the "In Flight" contest! Wish I had a six for you! Good Luck! :o) Helvi
