Initial Impact: This is a pretty nifty stop action shot of this Bombus. I think Bee wings are really tough to get a good stop action of. I have come close, but not quiet.

Technical Excellence: The focus of the bee's body as well as the plant is - Dare I say, "Sharp and crisp". The background bokeh supports and highlights the central subjects.

Creativity of Presentation: Tight crop framing draws the eye to the action. A visual bonus with the outlining of the flower structures.

Color Harmony: The color saturation and vibrancy are consistent with the portrayed environment.

Center of Interest: See Technical Excellence.

Technique: I see conventional above average photography combined with not over done postproduction highlighting.

Lighting: the scene is evenly lit without any distractions or shadows to reduce the eye appeal of this shot.

Story Telling Ability: With all the preceding factors are taken into account I find that this is an easy post that chronicles nature, being nature.

Recommendations: Freeze the wings (Faster shutter release) and it's a six.

This is a really fine entrant for this contest good luck... Bob

I absolutely love this visual that's presented here. This huge bumblebee coming in to receive its nectar. The flower just seems to glow. Composition shaves tones colors, and background. Highlight your subject in a very pleasing way. Worthy of a six ! I'm sorry I don't have one I can award you, but I'm giving you a virtual one.

Wow! The vivid colours and intricate details bring life to the Passion Flower, and not surprisingly, the bee is attracted to it. This is a very impressive capture and presentation. Good luck!

I must admit - it I were a bumble bee I would fly directly to this glowing flower. What a fun and athetically pleasing image of this little pollinator enjoying the fruits of the day. The Initial Impact is dynamic with the glowing petals, and you have all but stopped those wings that average 300 - 400 movements per second. I like the natural bokeh in the back that adds natural surroundings to the subject. Very fun to review - good luck in the contest.

A great entry for this contest. I love how you have freeze the flying motion of this bee visiting the passion fruit blossom. I enjoy the natural and authentic colors. Great angle and lighting. Clarity of the details of the filaments and stamens of this bloom. The natural background fits well. Wish you the best in this contest. A pleasure to view.
