That is so very cool and scary at the same time-LOVE it! Can't believe it is that tall, I wish they had something like that where I am. You chose the perfect sky for that, it looks so very ominous and goes perfectly with that hideous pumpkin face. EXCELLENT!!!

Wow - thank you! I've been pleasantly surprised with the feedback I've received on this image (I almost did not post it). Thank you for this enthusiastic / uplifting review along with the extra star.

This is a truly petrifying image. The pumpkin Face is grotesque and well captured in your photograph against a stormy sky that adds to the ominous and unsettling feeling.

Hi Kathy.. It's me again! Back with another riveting review of what the Banich lens has wrought.

• Initial impact: Gadzooks, its 'Children of the Corn Revisited', it sent a chill down my spine.
• Creativity of presentation: On this one I gotta say it was a master stroke using the ominous overcast sky. In my opinion it's the great contrast of the sky that makes this shot.
• Color Harmony: The color palette is appropriate for the season. The color appears natural in tone and saturation.
• Center of Interest: I have seen so many close-ups of 'Pumkin Heads' that after a while they become just "Ho-Humm". Not so with this post - and that's what got my attention. Granted a close-up of this particular head would work. But your use of the entire scarecrow and just enough of the corn field with that sky - Oh my!!.
• Technical Excellence: I see a high-resolution flawless image that has been carefully crafted with experienced use of the camera combined with conservative postproduction applications.
• Technique: Overall a fine blend of technical and artistic talent/craftsmanship is on display.
• Lighting: Since the background has been changed, I can't offer an assessment for this category.
• Story Telling Ability: You have depicted the story line and have left it to us to fill it in.
• Recommendation(s): Make a door size poster of this Halloween masterpiece and scare the bejesus out of everyone.

Overall, I think this post could be a contest winner... Bob

Bob - you made my day! I really enjoyed reading this thorough review. Without changing the sky - this sincerely would have been a hum drum presentation - Thank you so much for taking the time to write this detailed review, and thank you for the added star :o)

Hi Brian - it was meant to be in the contest, but I got ahead of myself last night (was tired) and neglected to reserve a spot. Oh well - I'll have to find something else for the contest. I'm glad you liked it.

A good looking image presented here! Your fine and classical composition gives us an enjoyable view of that Halloween construction. Textures, colours and tones are good. Nicely taken!
