Hi Allan, First of all the guy trying to climb this is crazy!!! Just the weight of the climber could cause the metal to crack and break away. The fact that it's on a cliff doesn't help!........With that being said, I think you captured something unique and incredible to see. Love the colorful graffiti! Both lighting and focus show of your find perfectly! So glad you saw this and took a picture! Great shot for the man touched landscape contest! Good Luck! :o) Nancy

Hi Nancy, it is even crazier than it looks. If you look very closely at his left arm, it has grasped on to a thin rope. He was going to scale the wall using the rope that was anchored somewhere above. As he started to do this, his girlfriend yelled at him as no one knew if the rope was strong enough or anchored well above. What people do!
I did not realize when I posted for "man altered landscape" that graffiti is also a modification to ones surroundings. Thanks for your interesting and generous review.

Allan - this is a wonderful find and a fitting image for the contest. Not only does the Bunker represent a touch of man - but the subsequent graffiti on both the bunker and unfortunately the rock formation that supports it, is yet another touch of man. You got my attention, so I did google it - the inside is also painted with loads of graffiti. The person attempting to climb the bunker, brings nice scale to the scene so we can contemplate the size of the bunker.
The image is tack sharp with loads of interest and offers a strong initial impact. It almost resembles a shoe! ha,ha. Well Done Allan!!

Thanks Kathy for the wonderful review. and YES it does resemble a shoe. It is a bit sad that this historic site, meant to protect us from foreign invasion during WW2 is now a dilapidated building covered in graffiti. It is too far gone to preserve it now unfortunately. I know someday I will see in the news that it collapsed.

This is very interesting shot and even more so your notes. You have great focus and a subject that grabs one's attention, the obvious "what in the world is it". I often wonder why people think they have to deface things with graffiti. I also wonder if there are any plans to do anything to preserve this history before it is gone. Hope so. Thank you Allan, for sharing your shot.

Thanks much for your wonderful comments. It is too far gone to save now. It may just be a few years before it collapses. Thanks again.
