Beautiful shot of this Egret, very common here in South Florida.Where did you take this shot? I love the way you shot him, up close, using the full frame of the composition. The light he is cast in is just beautiful without being washed out and over exposed. The contrast between the bird and the sand beneath his feet is spectacular. It really makes the bird stand out very well.

Thanks for the nice review. We spend Jan-Feb along the Gulf coast each year. This shot may have come from Holmes beach or Anna Maria Island near Saratota one year. Thanks again!

The snowy egret is one of my favorite birds because of the beautiful flying feathers, and in this photo they are showing so well. I also like the way the bird is posing for you, and how well it is standing out from the background.

The photo is sharp showing such clear and well defined details in the feathers of the bird. The white balance is very good and the exposure spot on.

I also like the format and the placement of the bird within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF Allan, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Well look at that! The snowy egret is indeed an elegant bird, it appears that this bird is showing off and giving you such a wonderful photo op! I love the fringed feathers and the way they are so pronounced here!
This bird is well placed within the frame and standing out so beautifully from the grey tones in background. White feathered birds are such a challenge but you nailed this one Allan!
Spot on focus, sharp, clear image with perfect exposure and white balance.
I appreciate the clear yellow eye and well defined beak.
This is very well presented and such a wonderful entry for this contest! Very best wishes to you !

Thanks Pat for the wonderful review, I appreciate that. And a high rating to boot.
These white egrets are hard to shoot in full sunlight as you can clip the whites easily. They are so much fun to watch as they are stealthy and a bit comical in their daily routines. It seems appropriate that snowbirds from MN would photograph snowy egrets in FL. : )

Nice image. The angle where the bird is against the dark water helps bring out all it's wonderful details. Lighting and focus very nice as well! Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

An Outstanding Image of a bird out (there) standing in the water. Ha,ha,ha. Seriously, "Wow", look at those quills. Your focus is sharp tack, and each quill stands out in such a clear, vivid way. You have managed your inherently bright white subject with demonstrated camera skills. Your patience to wait for the egret to look to the left - giving you a nice shot of its face paid off. Very, very well done! I know from experience how difficult it is to capture these birds in a quality shot - This image is so deserving of more than a 6.
