Hi Bob,
The initial impact of this little Cardinal is "Wow". The lighting is very effective and allows the bird to literally be in the spotlight as he / she is perched so comfortably on that limb. Your exposure is perfect and allows the bright red to radiate the scene while retaining the texture and detail in the body. Focus is good; allowing clear detail throughout the image to even include those little talons. The wide dof really created a nice bokeh to accentuate the image. Some may recommend a bit more open space in the frame (right) to allow the cardinal to move - I personally feel it's okay as is and presents nicely with its body being centered in the presentation. Well done!

Well focused, nice clear image with well managed exposure , the colors and tones appear natural . Well defined face and beak and I appreciate that clear eye!

The red cardinal is such a pretty and colorful bird, and you have pictured it so well. I especially like the way the light is falling on it, and also how well you have captured the eye. The bird is also standing out from the softened background in an excellent way.
The photo is over all sharp, but the body probably a bit soft. It is clear and well defined details to be seen, and the exposure is very good.
The format is perfect and the bird has got a fine placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Bob, and with an excellent DOF.
