Outstanding Kathy. Can't find anything at all that I would change. Other than my being there as well :) You have great focus, composition and just a minimal amount of background blur. The soft colors are all working in unison and complimentary to each other. Love it, I can definitely see this one hanging on the wall.

Great shot and notes Kathy, about this incredibly lucky Bull Elk in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Love your sharp focus on the eye in this action shot. Great texture of the fur and trees. The DOF clarity and those antlers are incredible. I like your composition showing where he is headed. Great natural colours and a real nature image and story. Great job and thanks for sharing :-)

Hi Kathy, I'm still trying to find a moose in the wild! LOL Lucky you, getting to see an elk in the wild. Love the antlers on this guy! I totally understand how you could watch him for hours. I'd want to stay around as long as I could. This guy is so majestic! Love the shot you took of him! I love the fact that all the does laid down when he spoke! That must have been fun to see. You take such beautiful photos of animals Kathy, and this one is no exception. You have pictured this bull elk so well, and I especially like that you have given him room to move into. The elk is also standing out from the lovely background in an excellent way.
The photo is of course also pin sharp showing truly clear and well defined details in every part of the animal. The colors look nice and natural and the exposure is spot on.
The format is perfect, and it is indeed a god flow and balance in the composition. This is a truly lovely and well taken nature shot, and with an excellent DOF.
