Burr! Your picture of this icy scene makes me feel cold! I love your composition, looking directly down the road and the trees along the side provide great framing. The line of interest provided by the road really makes this a stand out presentation. The low light evening colors provide the perfect mood for such an icy day. All colors and tones are natural and pleasing, and I like that you included tall sky, It's very definitive for the rest of the photo. Well done and a pleasure to view!

Looks a bit bleak there and indeed icy don,t think would like to drive down that road,that aside i like how the sun is placed in this and the long perpective of the road,good photo...brian

Great shot here Pat of an icy road near Anchorage. A beautiful scene with glowing sun and stunning snow capped mountains on the horizon. An appropriate blue colour for the scene. Focus, texture and clarity are good. Well done and thanks for sharing :-)

A lovely shot of an icy road that leads the eye to the sunset in the distance. The whiteness of the icy road contrasts well being framed by the silhouetted trees. A very nice visual here.

Ice bugs, sure - but what about your tires? That is looking pretty darn icy - I think someone could ice skate on that road. Studded snow tires would even struggle (I think). I digress - but that is because I hate driving on ice.
A great image Pat, and that sitting sun offers just enough light to highlight the ice on the road. Camera techs are spot on - depth is great and I can't see any dry patches in the distance (ha,ha).

Thank you very much Kathy , we drive with all season tires , our vehicles are 4X4 so we get around fine! We have studded tires on our Jeep and they really help .

Un-seasonly warm here on Long Island, NY and it hasn't rained in three months. Hopefully, soon we will be on our way to spring. Very enjoyable. Ray

Hi Pat, now that is an image I can relate to. You are just a month ahead of us! What a great leading line taking the viewer to the sunset. I like the sun's reflection on the icy road. The vegetation works nice to frame the subject. This should help me get psychologically ready for our icy roads (or not).
