Nancy, this is a spectacular shot of a swallowtail on a pink Zinnia. You framed it in a pleasing way showing the butterfly sipping some nectar. You are so talented with your mixed media creations. Very nice. Ray

A lovely presentation Nancy! This butterfly has a mysterious feeling that is enhanced by his softness and beautiful lighting. Post editing has really made this an outstanding work and I'm sorry that I don't have a six left to award to it. Butterflies and zinnias seem to go together well and the flower is as beautiful as the butterfly sitting on it. Great attention to the details have made this a pleasurable view!

This is so lovely! The zinnia is well placed within the frame and I like the butterfly as it landed in from the right to offer such a nice side profile view. Both the flower and the butterfly step forward from the soft background . Well captured with nice focus on both subjects , this image is clear and your exposure is well managed. I like the way the soft light comes through the wings .
You have brought out such well defined detail in both the zinnia and the butterfly. Colors and tones appear natural.
Well composed and presented!

still think a side view of a butterfly is better even though a full on one shows more color but this one does that as well, good use of dof and the color of the flower adds contrast, good one...Brian

Nancy, this is a lovely shot of the butterfly on the Zinnia. I don't see too much wing damage at all. Focus and clarity are good with the background blurred appropriately to show the main subject at its best potential.

HI Michele, I think this swallowtail was missing it's tails. It still was a lovely shot to take though. I'm glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the great review! :o) Nancy

A beautiful presentation of this tack sharp butterfly in full detail enjoying the nectar from the succulent bloom.

Your postproduction blur of the background is perfect and allows just enough recognition of the environment to retain a natural / realistic setting, while the butterfly is in wonderful detail (body and antennae included) to offer that WOW; enjoyed by all. The outline of the flower petals really adds crispness to the scene. I like the way the butterfly's front wing is lit up and radiating with sun's natural warmth.

Beautiful!

A lovely shot of the Zinnia and a little tattered, but still beautiful Swallowtail. You have blurred the background perfectly leaving it only slightly recognizable. The subjects are both in great sharp focus and positioned just right.
