Love the softness of this. The puffed up chickadee is certainly evident in the image that it is really cold. The colors, details, lighting are all wonderful. The overall presentation is wonderful! Thanks for sharing.

Bravo, such an excellent capture Pat! The fine details of this little bird are outstanding as he fluffs up trying to keep warm. His natural head tilt and soft expression are beautiful - your timing excellent! I like the composition and muted background which brings this bird great highlight. Lovely work!

Does make you wonder how the birds survive in such cold conditions.
Your composition is good and the dappled background works perfectly against the colors of the bird.
Great sharp focus on eye and his fluffed up plumage is shown with clarity.

Thank you so much Mary! I always wonder how these little birds survive , for one thing, they need to eat a lot every day, several times a day to keep themselves warm.

Thank you Brian! They have to eat several times a day in order to keep enough body fat to keep them warm.

Well, isn't he a little cutie! What a great capture of this little chickadee with his head cocked to take a better look at you, I think. You caught his eye beautifully and his fluffy feathers are in great focus. The grey background takes away any distractions from this little fellow. I love it, Pat.
