Great acrylic paint and ink of this Butterfly Christmas Ray. Wouldn't it be something if you buy a tree and it comes with transparent butterflys that just fly circles around the tree until boxing day lol. Great colours, ornaments and butterflys. I like the abstact background. Well done and good luck in the contest :-)

This is such a beautiful Christmas Tree. I really love how you have painted the crystal and colorful Christmas ball. They look real and like a photograph especially its shiny textures and shape. The shapes are well defined and consistent. Those white butterflies made the scene magical. I also like the brown and earth tone colors that you have choose as a background. It looks like a hard wood. Ray, this is one of your finest painting and this deserves a SIX.

Nieves, I like when you say that. I planned this one and enjoyed doing it. I thought what happens in warmer climates, I love butterflies and the other pollinators, sweet candy canes would attract any insect looking for nourishment and then I thought of butterflies and that was that. I can imagine their wings picking up the Christmas tree lights and becoming almost opalescent. So breathtaking! This must be a tree somewhere deep in the forest that only fairies see. It is stunning! I figured there are so many places in the world where butterflies flourish and where trees are decorated for Christmas is being celebrated. What would happen if they got together and those were my thoughts about this piece. Ray

Brian that is what I been trying to explain to you. As an artist I try to create beauty and as a photographer you try to capture scenes and things that are beautiful in you eyes, so there is a difference. Ray
