Hi Mark, I don't know what it is but there is something lovable about Meerkats. Love how these meerkats all seem to be poking around in the same space. Love the one lying down on the left. Cute shot that was well taken and fun to view! Good luck in the Contest! :o) Nancy

Wow! I have seen photos of meerkats before but never more than one! Here I can see 4 in same frame.
This is interesting to see and I appreciate your notes .
Well captured with good timing to stop their action.
Well composed to tell this story. Well presented!

I like the photos intent and composition. However the focus and clarity is not all it could be. A little blurry and unclear. Good luck in the contest.

A lot of activity is occurring in this image, consequently capturing, thus showing and validating the meerkats as social pack animals. I don't recall ever seeing them in person, they appear to be about the size of a rabbit. The image stirs a story as the viewers imagine what they might be doing (i.e. looking for a tasty morsal). It looks like one is done playing and wanting to leave, the lighter colored one is looking for a tummy scratch and the other two are digging for something (morsal?). The image is sharp and clear and shows the texture of their coats. Thanks for sharing this interesting capture.

I love meerkats. They are so cute inquisitive and extremely intelligent. Love how they sound the alarm when there's danger. Composition shades, tones, and angle captures this moment in time perfectly. Well done.

Having taken quite a few photos of meerkats in the past know if you take your time in viewing and getting the right moment to take a shot you can get good photos i feel Mark this seems to be a quickly taken photo,i learnt a valuable lesson from sange on here where i used to take loads of photos when visiting zoos but now i try to be more selective and have a bit of patience when taking animal shots....Brian
