What I like the best about this image is the lovely color of the water and the limited color pallet. I also like that you added three small fish in the background because this adds such a fine depth. The plants look great and I like the light effect at the top.

The bass is done paying such a good attention to details and with a good use of high lights.

The format and framing is perfect, and with the bass off to the right it is such a fine balance in the composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well done digital painting Allan.

Thanks for the high rating Annie, greatly appreciated. I think I paint fish underwater as a result of going to aquariums as a young boy with my parents. Thanks for your support.

Thits e first impression of 'Small Mouth...' is its energy and movement. This digital painting immediately captivates the viewer with interest and intrigue as we imagine the graceful, fluid motion of the fish. It evokes a sense of tranquility and wonder, as if peering into a serene underwater world.

The detail you have applied in this image is striking, from the wee little body patterns on the minnows to the Small Bass's scale design. The lake floor is also captivating and well depicted

Thanks Kathy, I have to keep up the detail as you do a deep dive when you review an image. No shortcuts for me! : ))
I am not sure why I like to paint underwater fish, but I think it was all the aquariums I was taken to as a child. Some things must stick!

Yep, our parents plant seeds in our development that stick with us.

This is a very well created digital Artwork.
The small mouth bass is so realistic and we sense its fluid motion in the water, we also see the three slimmer fish with a single stripe up on the left that this bass seems to have its eye on.
All of the fish are nicely placed within the frame , I like the aquatic plants across the bottom and the way you show the light in the water.
This is very well created, arranged and presented! Your notes are informative and appreciated!
I was just in Cabelas and stopped at their large aquarium to watch all of the fish.

Thanks Pat, I always appreciate your comments as they are real! I visited many aquariums in my childhood and went fishing with my Dad all the time. I think that is now why I paint underwater fish. Odd how the mind works (or sometimes doesn't!)
We have Cabelas stores also in MN, they are fun. Scheels are very similar also.
