A very interesting and unique visual presented here of this animal which I've never personally seen. Composition, shades, tones, colors, and background highlight him in a very pleasing way. Thank you for sharing.

An interesting photograph of an animal that I have not seen before. It is hard to get a good photograph behind a fence. One would have to get the lens close to the gaps in the fence, or change the fstop to a low setting; it changes the depth of field..

Hey Mark! What a treat! I have never seen an Oryx up close and personal.
Your photo captures a scene of an oryx peacefully grazing on the other side of a wire fence. The contrast between nature and a man-made barrier, creates a coexistence between wildlife and human influence. The clarity of the image is remarkable, highlighting the oryx's graceful posture and the intricate details of its horns. This photograph not only showcases the beauty of the oryx but also invites contemplation on the boundaries we set within nature. A truly captivating shot that resonates on both an aesthetic and emotional level.

Hey Kathy! Thanks for the great review, very much appreciated! I actually tried hard to remove the fence as I have removed power lines before but had a time removing the fence. I wanted to present more of a nature shot but your review on human influence makes a good point :-)

This is an intriguing animal , it's one that I am not familiar with . It is truly beautiful and this one appears to be so healthy .
You have photographed it well with correct camera settings through the fence,
Well focused, this image is clear and your exposure is correct and brings forward the natural colors and tones.
The oryx is nicely placed within the frame , and stands out beautifully from the green grass , we see that it is busy grazing.
The horns are impressive !
Well composed and presented!

Think the trouble with this one is the fence, when animals are this close to the fence i avoid taking shots because you can never get rid of the fence [of course if you could get close to the fence this would not be a problem ] but in most zoos its not possible....brian

A beautiful picture of the Oryx dammah / Scimitar - Horned Oryx in the Safari Park showing the full length of it's long horns as it grazes on the grass with yellow daisy like flowers growing in the grass. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A good looking nature image posted here! Its name prompts me to ask a simple, question such as "Is it a type of deer?". Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well taken!

Thanks for your review! The Oryx dammah is an Antelope. It is a member of the Bovidae family which includes Antelopes, cattle, Gazelles, goats and sheep :-)

An impressive photograph of the wild life. You've done an excellent job with the framing. The framing, light, shadows, and colours all come together perfectly. Nice effort!
