This is a beautiful portrait of your orchids.However I think that the solid black background doesn't do them justice. Technically, it is a lovely composition that has nice, sharply focused images, stunning color, interesting subject matter and good placement of focal point.

A nice shot. I confess I know nothing at all about orchids my knowledge being limited to poppies, roses and dandelions. Personally I think the background lacks 'personality', it's just a bit too black. Have you thought about using off camera flash close to the flower. This will darken the background significantly while leaving it with just a bit of character thanks to the inverse square law.

I keep looking at these and I like the way that they look like they have faces, I don't know that much about orchids but these are really beautiful. I think that also the dark background really makes these stand out, the focus is great and I also like how the green stands out also. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing. JackJr.
