A nice shot. I confess I know nothing at all about orchids my knowledge being limited to poppies, roses and dandelions. Personally I think the background lacks 'personality', it's just a bit too black. Have you thought about using off camera flash close to the flower. This will darken the background significantly while leaving it with just a bit of character thanks to the inverse square law.

I keep looking at these and I like the way that they look like they have faces, I don't know that much about orchids but these are really beautiful. I think that also the dark background really makes these stand out, the focus is great and I also like how the green stands out also. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing. JackJr.

HI Michelle, Love the delicate ruffled ridges of this gorgeous colored orchid. I think you did a nice job of capturing the elegant look of these blooms. I can see why you love caring for them so much! I can imagine how they brighten your day when they bloom. Against the black background they show off beautifully. These are just lovely , you seem to have a nice variety of orchids and these are so well photographed , nice focus, this image is clear and your exposure is correct , colors and tones appear natural, the delicate blooms are standing out so well from the darkened background.

Beautiful shot of these orchids. The colors are so vibrant and sharp as tack. The black background really makes them pop. I have a few orchids and really look forward to the blooms which seem to last a relatively long time. Very nice indeed :)
