Hi Pat.. No kidding? The lower 48 is gettin hammered. Here we have roughly 18 inches on the ground with another 10 starting tomorrow afternoon.

She is certainly a healthy-looking specimen.

Super white balance contrast between Moose and snow. The detail of the cow is excellent high detail from nose to hip.

Excellent shot... Bob

the moose starts complaining..."rocky flies away and leave me to walk, this snow! grrrrrr!" lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this moose in the snow is great. the capture of the light is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

If I had 6 stars, you would get them. Unfortunately I don't have no more. ANY snow picture will get a 6 star rating from me. This is a beautiful picture of the moose tracking through the snow. Excellent detail and get focus on this moose. Thank you for sharing!

Pat...A wonderful stop action nature image of a cow moose trudging through the deep snow of last year. It looks like such an effort as he focusses on his mission. (I find it hard to understand that an animal of this size could be in your yard!) I love how you can see the snow coming from his left hoof. Thanks for sharing such an interesting photo.

Thanks very much Chris! Yes we are pretty used to having the moose wander in to our yards , they jump the fence and vine in and ear tree branches , sometimes they lay down and rest, I always have to be careful about letting my dogs out. I hope you were able to see some moose while you were here.
    I appreciate your supportive review!

This moose looks like he's on a mission. Hopefully just to go and get something to eat. Composition shades, tones colours and presentation is very well done. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much Maureen , she actually headed to the other side of my yard where there are trees for her to munch on!

Even though this image of the Cow moose could seem simplistic, what I notice immediately is the motion you captured as he ran through the yard in two feet of snow. I like the spray of snow under the hoof. Be is a Moose on a mission!
Perfect

Great photo of this moose as it is running away.
The contrasting colors of the moose and fresh new snow shows so well in this beautiful photograph.

Hi Pat, There is something definitely wrong only six inches of snow on the ground in February in Alaska. This picture of a moose on the run reminds me of a Paul McCartney song. From what I know about moose, they are very agile and powerful. This shows one powerful animaltaking to the snow with out a care in the world. Thank you for sharing this wonderful power house of an animal. Ray

Thank you so much Ray, we started out with maybe 8 inches then it warmed up for two weeks during January and it melted away, there very little snow this year. I hope we don’t get a big snowfall in March !
