I really hope this insect doesn't bite. I really wouldn't want to meet it at any time. It looks ominous. Composition, shades, tones, colours and background highlight your subject in a pleasing way. Well done.

with todays technology ya just never know..wink..lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this insect on the plant stem is great. the capture of the light is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

You have indeed pictured this robber fly well, and the light is falling on it in such a lovely way. I also like the all dark background for the fly to stand out in an excellent way.
Your focus is spot on and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details in every part of the insect. The exposure is just perfect.
The format and tight framing has worked well, and I like the diagonal placement of the robber fly. Indeed a great looking and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.
