This is a very nice framed shot of the cold. The snow contrasts the color of the house, the chimney, the trees and the woods behind it making the composition very interesting to view. Imagery is sharply focused, exposure is fine, overall composition is well done.

A really nice snowy entry in this contest. I like the artist's notes, too. Snowy days are always a good reason for not going to work. Great angle, lighting, and framing choice. Keep enjoying your coffee. You have the right to stay at home in times like this. All the best in this contest.

As far as the photo, just a couple suggestions. Maybe a fast shutter speed would have made the house and surroundings sharper. Also, a minor composition thing, The tree on the left is cut in half, usually better to get it all in or just not get any of it in the frame.

Great photograph and fun story to read. The picture a scenery that is so nice to view if you don't have to go anywhere and even if it do, have plenty of time to clean it up. Then you can sit with the cup of coffee by the fireplace and wait for Santa to deliver presents.
