Nice painting of this vase filled with flowers as they will offer pleasure to the owner inside.
I like the pastel colors on the blooms and the dark blue vase . Of course the choice of the background can be in many different colors ; if you choose dark (black, brown or burgundy) it would be create more formal feelings for this presentation. If you go with softer palette of pale yellow and/or slightly transitional into light blue/green) would be more playful tone.

This is a lovely vase of flowers and I read your notes, so I know you already know about the cropping concern. I think your background color is just fine. However, when you take the next picture of this piece and repost it, if you do, make sure the piece is flat on a wall. Even if you have to tape it to it so that when you take the picture, it will be evenly lit by the light, so that you don't get that shadowing that we're seeing on the left side. Your artwork is quite beautiful. I love the colors. They all work very harmoniously together.
I like The Strokes that you employed in making the vase to give the viewer a sense of. Roundness and dimension to it. I also like all the detail that you have put into this such as the spotting on the Lily's, and buds of the green leaves. Foreshortening is well handled, and the subject matter is very pleasing to look at.

I wouldn't change the background as it does highlight your subject in a very pleasing way. A nice still-life painting in watercolourst! The framing, light, shadows, and colors all come together perfectly. With proper trimming of the sides, this will habe better appeal.
