Charlotte,
A beautiful picture of the Greater Blue - eared Starling showing it's beautiful purple & blue iridescence. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

What a great entry for this contest, Charlotte. You've really showcased the shiny colors and textures of this blue sterling's wings and feathers. I also like how you've placed her in the frame and it is a nice compliance to the rule of third. Great angle, focus, and lighting, too. Such a refreshing scene with the grass blades in the foreground. So earthy! I can imagine this scene on the wall especially in the cabins. SIX!

You've captured a remarkable moment in nature! The colourful bird appears to be posing for you.The framing is well-thought-out, and the use of light and shadows adds both depth and character. The colours are vibrant, and the composition ties everything together seamlessly. Excellent effort! Regretfully, I don't have any six left to award.

Initial impact of this image is wonderful. The bird's colors are so rich and vibrant, but we are still able to see great detail in his feathers and that glowing eye. I like the way you have placed the focal point to the far right third of the composition, and given the viewer a nice up close view of the subject matter.

A beautiful capture of this bird showing extraordinary colors of his plumage. And the amber eye is so clear and outstanding. Shown in it natural habitat serves to show him off beautifully.

Hi Charlotte, this guy is very pretty! Love the hues of green and blue! Wish we had this type of starling in the States! Love the way his eye stands out. Nice ficus and lighting. I know these guys just like Mallards have to be standing so the sun hits them just right so you can see their iridescent hues. Nicely done! I enjoyed! Good Luck in the contest! :o) Nancy

Ha ha I never got to eat much on our picnics as I'd always be on hands and knees trying to photograph one type or other of these wonderful colourful birds!

What a stunning bird! I love the iridescent green and blue and that orange eye!
The starling is nicely -laced within the frame leaving plenty of room for it to look or move into.
Well photographed with spot on focus, this image is clear and your exposure is perfect, the colors and tones appear natural.
I like the natural background with nice depth of field allowing this bird to be seen without distractions .
Well composed and presented!
