Hi Paul, Timing is everything, especially in a shot like this! I can just imagine the amount of shots you took that missed the splash. So glad it paid off in the end! You captured an awesome splash. Love the clarity of both bird and splash! Looks like the shot could have been a little lighter but the end result is still awesome. Very nicely done and a joy to view! :o) Nancy

There's no way you can imagine how many shots I took. This was the best, narrowly beating a shot of a swallows bum disappearing frame right. Your comment is greatly appreciated Nancy.

Beautifully sharp with excellent dof and colour - I love the bits of red you can see on both the wing and throat.

An excellent stop action capture Len of a swallow above the pool. Beautiful clarity of the water drops and light. You had a lot of patience to wait for a couple of hours to get that shot...but well worth the wait!

Many thanks indeed cakemp and for the six as well. Sometimes you need patience ... a co-operative swallow would have helped enormously, but they were somewhat lacking

This time the payoff is magnificent. This is an excellent capture of this swallow. Captures like this one are what we live for.
The exposure and focusing are smack dab on target. The water droplets are not distorted by a slow shutter speed, and the action of the bird is sharp and well seen - Bravo.
This shot is one in several thousand and I am envious, keep it up man... Bob

This time the payoff is magnificent. This is an excellent capture of this swallow. Captures like this one are what we live for.
The exposure and focusing are smack dab on target. The water droplets are not distorted by a slow shutter speed, and the action of the bird is sharp and well seen - Bravo.

Thanks MKF and a six to boot. Swallows are really quick little things and I have got so many shots of just the splash and no swallow. I'll probably focus on slower birds from now on I think :-)

This swallows looks like not only did they get a swallow of water but a days worth of water. This is a beautiful picture of this bird in action flying and coming out of the water like a movie scene. Thank you for sharing, beautifully done!
