A really nice shot of this thistle ... with free bees. The bees look like you've arranged them specifically for the photograph. Now that's talent !! Great shot.

Hi Aimee, This is a very cool shot of the thistle. I not only like the flower, but he addition of the two bees that look like they're taking a nap! LOL Very cool and fun shot you captured. The flower is interesting by itself but the added bees make it even more so! Nice job and a great shot for the flower contest! :o) Nancy

I like your interpretation too Aimee, of the bees as earrings! How cool is that! LOL

I like the shot. Nice colors.
You did very well with the blurred background. Love the colors with good story telling ability. I feel it does suffer a bit with the technique used. A bit under
exposed and could be a tad
sharper. Not real sure about the color balance, but it seems like it might be a little off. no deduction there however. All in all I think it a very lovely effort.

We had a member who grew thistle with the purple color and she actually sent me some of the seed heads, unfortunately I couldn't get them to grow.
I find the thistle to be fascinating because of its shape and structure.
Well captured with nice focus, this image is clear and your exposure is correct. Colors abd tones appear natural.
The two bees are a bonus, they each found their spot on each side of the center.
Well composed and presented! I

Aimee,
A beautiful picture of the Sea Holly with two Buff-tail Bumblebees on it the light glisteing in their Gossamer wings & their deep yellow stripes contrasting with superb blue purple of the Sea Holly. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Such a unique entry in this Flower Contest showcasing the blossom of the thistle in a different or latter stage. I love the prominent textures resulting from excellent focus and angle.

A stunning capture of this Alpine Thistle. Focus and clarity are great showing the spiky leaves, and the colors are awesome. Also, we have two complimentary Bees to view.

Aimee, this is a beautiful capture of this Alpine thistle. It looks treacherous for those who get near it except for the bees, living it up. The colors are purple and steel blue and are sharp and distinct features. Excellent entry for the contest. Ray
