Hi Brian, this is such a lovely place, I can see myself standing here to photograph this and I would be interested in the wooden structure in foreground as well as the amazing scene behind it with the church standing out prominently. I have studied this and think I might try to make two photos here, I would use the remove tool to eliminate the structure in foreground and then maybe crop a bit from the bottom. That way we will enjoy the beautiful scene across the water and the reflections. Then I would crop down to only show the structure in foreground as another photo. It has interest to as it shows the water line and seaweed on the diagonal boards.
As presented, the wooden structure actually competes with the beautiful scene in back.
Of course this is just my opinion.
All technical elements are correct and I can see this is a beautiful place .

thanks Pat for the good review can see the point of view but do have other photos of this place without the wooden structue but not in a portrait mode[contest rule] but understand your point on it

Well this is lovely photograph of an Essex town with the tide out. However when I scrolled up to exclude the wood "thing" I felt it would have been a much more beautiful photo without that distraction, and also the photo would have still shown the tide being out. Good luck in the contest.
