murky is a good word for this and yes its minimalistic in it context and dark but that sort of counts towards its charm whether its a strong enough use of green for this contest is another matter...Brian

Green is definitely what the eye sees first. However, I don't feel you have done the tulip justice. I really think it would benefit from having more light on it, since it is the focal point. It does look like a painting from the blending that you have done. It looks a bit sultry, moody and contemplative, and is overall a good contender for the contest. Best of luck.

WOW! I am sorry I don't have any six stars left to give you. At first, I thought it was a painting and your use of blended textures helps to give that impression. Your muted and blended background does a fabulous job of bringing the tulip bud to the front and I love its colors. I'm glad you added a leaf in the lower right corner as the bud would have looked lonely. Good luck in the contest.
